This study looks into what life was like in Ireland during the 1950s. It will aim to discover the reasons for a rise of emigration during that period. Furthermore this study will investigate the opportunities aboard namely in London. Finally this study will question why a large number of those who emigrated, returned back to Ireland in later years.
